Transition + Length of Takes
It takes about 8 seconds for each shot to be showen. It glids to each scene smoothly throughout the opening. At the end each cut they fade out then at the start of the next one following it it fades in. In the cut with the cookies they quick cut between each individual cookies before it starts to fall. Each shot has something that quickly shows you a part of his life.
Good identification of the different shots and transitions between them in this section. Now think about why these transitions were used by the director: what do they show about the film and the characters? How do they hint at what the film will be about (larger ideas and themes)?
