i used a video camera. I walked into the house with the camera and stood still and looked around the room. i used zoom to zoom in to the his face. I tracked them walking down the isle and then zoomed in to saras face a bit when she was saying her vowels. i then zoomed out of joes head and zoomed in to the phone. then zoomed in to the text message over his shoulder. I edited it by cutting some parts of the shots out. and adding titles at the start and the end of my movie. i shorten the vowel scene by getting rid of joes. and i added a light border

Production process evaluation

i feel that my film opening could be better. i find it a tad wierd and not that good in some scenes. I feel it took me quite a long time to do and i wasnt that organised. i found something i think went well was the actors i used. and i feel that i could of been better with the way i sorted out the way i did my movie. and the steps i did up to my movie. the way i wasnt organised let down the way i was ready for the final date and that let me down in the fact i had to rush

Evaluation stage 4

i felt that i was successfull in some parts of my film opening that i wanted to show. my main problem i had was trying to film a few scenes where my actors wouldnt stop being silly and i didnt know really how i wanted it. What i would change in my production would be when i had my dream scene i would have more people watching the wedding. In post production i would like to be more organised because i struggled a bit with what to do. I also would try get music

Treatment-short film opening

starts by walking in to his room then looks at photos and memories of him which are hanging up on his wall around his room then zooms up to his face then it jumps to his dream and shows what he is dreaming about with the girl who he is marrying. They are happy and in love hugging and just before they kiss its zooms out of his dream and then it zooms out of his head then zooms to the phone and then it goes off saying shes got three dates for him.

For my film opening i have decided on the genre romance.  At the moment im going to give my film The Happy Ending. The idea i want to try to explore is the idea of trying to find the right one. Emotions i want to evoke is feeling of happyness for my main person who is going on these dates. My story at the start is going to show him with the girl that he loves and is together but it is a dream he wakes up to his phone going off and he gets a text from his best friend that he trusts dearlly and saying she has dates for him.  My main character will be a guy who is trying to find love. The style of the opening will be lad back and show the charcters before they have their date.

1. Describe

Choose ONE convention across at least TWO movies. Describe how this convention is used in this film. Use specific examples (textual evidence: techniques, details) and refer to your notes as necessary

The convection im talking about is the final girl, both 'Scream' and 'Halloween' had a girl that survived to the end. In 'Halloween' it was Laurie Strode (Jamie Lee Curtis) and in 'Scream' they had two one was Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell) and Gale Weathers (Courtney Cox). Sidney survived the the 'Ghost Face' killer twice first time was at her house and the second was at Stus house after losing her virginity to her boyfriend Billy (Skeet Ulrich), Gail didn't get attacked til the end when she tried helping Sidney out. While Laurie survived at the house she was babysitting. Even though in scream Gale Weathers isn't really a victin she still survives till the end. All the final girls fight the killer by either hitting them or in Gales case shot him. And in both cases of Sidney and Laurie they both get saved by someone before they are about to get killed. Havong a final girl give a change to the movie by having that strong female it gives a chance to have a victim thats not helpless and fights back. Sidney survives at one point when Billy was about to kill him when Gale shots him before he trys to stab Sidney. I think thats luck. Same thing happens in Halloween when Laurie was being strangled by Mike Myers (Tony Moran) and Dr Sam Loomis (Donald Pleasence) happens to be walking by when the two children Tommy Doyle (Brian Andrews) and Lindsey Wallace (Kyle Richards) run out of the Doyles house. He rubs in and just sees Mike strangling Laurie and shots him helping Laurie thats another way of luck.

Transition + Length of Takes
It takes about 8 seconds for each shot to be showen. It glids  to each scene smoothly throughout the opening. At the end each cut they fade out then at the start of the next one following it it fades in. In the cut with the cookies they quick cut between each individual cookies before it starts to fall. Each shot has something that quickly shows you a part of his life.

Mis-en-scene/composition
You see snow falling which represents winter and winter is normally depressing. And scissors which give a creepy feel to it. Machines and robots constantily moving gives you an idea of every one is always moving and wants to be in the loop. The pictures of cookies represent want Edward was doing before he was made alive. The hands and the inventor show what Edward had as a family and what he was lookin forward to. Cobwebs that are there represent how lonely and empty his life becomes.

Music
The music in the start is done by Danny Elfman. The music he created for the start of the film helps set the emotional parts of things. Its done by an orchestra of 79 musicians. The music sounds clasical and has a swaying feel to it. There a voices singing one word, a harp and alot of different string instruments. It changes speed alot going faster then slower.It was used in the beggining because his music sets the story scenes. Gives you a feel of the movie thats going to follow the opening.  

Method 1

Shot Size/Angle + Camera Movement
There is a alot of the camera moving. There is dolly which is where they dolly up the stairs. Then there is pan when it pansdown the robot that is going to be Edward. The shot size vary beetwen close up and medium shot. There are also a oblique angle which shows up to the statue at the end of the stairs. These show that the characters are busy and they keep moving. The close ups give you an idea of the inventions and what is in this mansion.

What is the Tone?

The tone feels spooky and has a feeling of something bad that is going to happen. I felt like it was a horror because of the massive scissors and machines that are moving. The picture of a door that is different than others and the spider webs on the wooden staue at the end of the stairs gives me a feeling noone really lives there and gave me a feeling of a haunted house. 

Mood of the Opening?

The mood has a creepy and sad feel to it. It starts off with all these machines and then it begins feeling more calm and confuzing when the snow starts falling and theres cookies.

How is it Created?

It is created by the colour and how the colour keeps simple and the same. It uses the colours Black, White, Blue/purpley grey. It also uses different shots and it moves the camera alot. With medium shots and other interesting shots.

I have chosen this movie opening because it caught my eye and i thought it was interesting and apealing to watch.
The opening starts of with the 20th Centery Fox sign with snow falling. Then it takes you through the door which then the words Edward Scissorhands appears and starts to open like a pair of scissors. It then shows you the wooden thing at the end of the stairs, which then takes you up these stairs. It then carrys on and shows you inventions the inventor has made, like his cookie machine which then goes to the falling cookies that look like snow. This then takes you to the hands and the inventor that is dead. It ends off with the mansion and the snow falling. The snow falling is the reason the story has taken place because a little girl asked where does snow come from??
